By applying for membership with The International Ecotourism Society (TIES), you agree to abide by these Terms & Conditions. These rules explain member responsibilities, privileges, and the terms that govern participation. TIES may update these terms from time to time; continuing membership constitutes acceptance of those updates.
Membership is open to individuals, organizations, students, and institutions that support sustainable and responsible ecotourism. Applicants must submit accurate and truthful information. TIES reserves the right to request supporting documents and to approve or decline applications at its sole discretion.
TIES offers category-based memberships (e.g., Individual, Professional, Student, Organization, Corporate). Benefits vary by category and may include access to resources, event discounts, networking opportunities, and directory listings. TIES may change benefits and pricing; members will be notified of significant changes.
Membership fees depend on category and region. Membership begins only after payment confirmation. Fees are generally non-refundable except when an application is declined prior to activation. Members are responsible for renewing on time to maintain uninterrupted benefits.
Members are expected to act professionally and ethically, upholding principles of conservation, community benefit, and sustainability. Misconduct, false representations, or actions that harm TIES’s reputation may lead to sanctions, suspension, or termination of membership.
By joining, members consent to TIES storing and displaying basic profile information (e.g., name, organisation, country) in member directories. Members can request limitations to public display by contacting TIES. Personal data will be handled per the organisation’s Privacy Policy and applicable laws.
All TIES intellectual property (logos, materials, trademarks) remains the property of TIES. Members must not use TIES branding to imply endorsement or partnership without prior written permission.
TIES may suspend or terminate membership for non-payment, breach of these Terms, or conduct contrary to TIES values. On termination, access to member benefits is revoked immediately. Fees paid are usually non-refundable except where TIES determines otherwise.
TIES is not liable for direct, indirect, special, or consequential damages arising from membership, use of materials, or participation in events. Members agree to indemnify TIES for claims arising from their actions or content they provide.
These Terms are governed by the law of the jurisdiction where TIES is legally registered. Any unresolved disputes will be addressed under that jurisdiction’s legal processes.
TIES reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions. Members will be informed of material modifications and continued participation signifies acceptance.
By applying for or renewing membership, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accept these Terms and Conditions.
